lesser known series

As Producer and Editor for the Lesser Known series at Substance Media Agency, I led a social media campaign focused on highlighting overlooked pioneers in the entertainment industry. I guided the project from concept to completion—researching and selecting each subject, shaping the storytelling, and editing the final videos to bring these underrepresented voices to the forefront. While managing multiple productions, I also led a small team of three junior editors, making sure the series stayed cohesive and aligned with our creative vision. The goal was to spark curiosity, build engagement, and grow Substance’s online presence through meaningful, story-driven content.

  1. Reggieknow was involved in everything from Sprite commercials
to Hip Hop culture, to Polo shirts and styling vinyl figures.
Learn more about the Chicago-native and pioneer who influenced Kanye West and Virgil Abloh.

  2. Vicki Dang, also known as Wii-ki, is a self-taught 3D artist based in Vietnam and China. Learn more about how she navigated her way into working with companies such as Nike China, IKEA, BMW, and more.

  3. Real life heroism exists in the gestures and acts of kindness we don't always hear about. To provide solidarity and create a dialogue against injustice, Ralph Lazo is one of these heroes.

samples series

As part of Substance’s social media campaign, I produced and edited a video series exploring the stories behind iconic songs and the samples they were built from. Each episode broke down the shared audio between tracks, offering a deeper look into the art of music sampling. I researched, selected topics, and mixed the audio for every episode—shaping each one to feel informative, engaging, and true to the spirit of the music. The goal was to connect with our audience through storytelling, rhythm, and a genuine love for the craft.

  1. Knxwledge is undeniably talented and hardworking. Over the years, he’s dropped countless of tracks on Bandcamp alongside his remixes on YouTube.

  2. Kendrick’s “Good Kid Maad City” album is packed with inventive music production and talent. DJ Dahi turns a moody-dream pop song into a hard-hitting beat.

  3. The history of pitched-up sounds and see the legacy of soul music with this rundown of Chipmunk Soul.

culture forward series

'Culture Forward' is a compelling series that illuminates the vibrant tapestry of diverse traditions, contemporary movements, and the intersection of cultures. This series uncovers the stories that shape our world, celebrating the forward march of progress in this thought-provoking exploration of cultural dynamism. As a Producer and Editor, I led a team of junior editors while also working on my own projects, making it an integral part of Substance's impactful social media campaign.

  1. Every Wednesday, from 2006 to 2018, the Airliner in Lincoln Heights hosted an Experimental Hip Hop and Electronic club night. People from all over the world would attend and the venue would fill beyond capcity. Low End Theory ended in 208, but its impact is timeless.
